My Role

My Role

As this project was used for my Computer Science Bachelor’s diploma project so in addition to being a Product designer I also was a Project Manager.

As Product Designer I was:

  • Designing the app’s user interface and user experience, ensuring it was both intuitive and visually appealing;

  • Conducting research and translated user needs into actionable design solutions;

  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that were aligned with user needs and business goals.

As Project Manager: I was:

  • Planning the project timeline, ensuring deadlines were met for each phase of development;

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers and stakeholders, to ensure the project stayed on track;

  • Assisting with budgets and resources management to ensure the successful delivery of the MVP;

Project outcome

The completed project resulted in a highly polished and visually cohesive user interface that delivers an exceptional user experience. The UI design prioritized simplicity, accessibility, and user engagement, with particular attention to typography, color schemes, and interactive elements. The user journey was thoughtfully mapped to ensure that job seekers could navigate the app effortlessly and achieve their goals efficiently.
To validate the designs, multiple usability testing sessions were conducted with real users, incorporating their feedback into iterative improvements. This ensured the app was not only functional but also intuitive and enjoyable to use. These sessions highlighted key areas for refinement, such as the onboarding process and the search functionality, which were adjusted to better meet user expectations.
In addition to the design, a comprehensive development and deployment plan for MVP 1.0 was created, covering everything from feature prioritization to app store submission strategies. The project was delivered with full documentation, including design specifications, development guidelines, and testing protocols, ensuring that the product was ready for implementation and scalability.

UX Research & Market Analysis

UX Research & Market Analysis

The research phase involved a comprehensive market analysis, including a competitive review of existing job search platforms to identify gaps and opportunities. I also conducted a SWOT analysis to evaluate the app’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the job search market. Surveys and interviews with job seekers provided valuable insights into user pain points and preferences. Analyzing this information helped shape the app's key features and functionalities.

During this phase, I also identified essential user needs such as personalized job recommendations, streamlined application processes, and progress tracking. By creating detailed user personas and journey maps, I ensured that the design aligned with user goals and addressed their most pressing challenges.

Functional Planning and Budget Planning

Functional Planning and Budget Planning

The functional planning stage focused on defining the app’s core functionalities while prioritizing features for the MVP phase. To achieve this, I utilized best practices in project management, including creating an Index Project Plan to outline deliverables and milestones, and using Gantt Charts to visualize the timeline and track progress. I also facilitated team formation, ensuring the right talent was assigned to key tasks, and conducted a thorough risks definition process to anticipate and mitigate potential project challenges.

I collaborated closely with experienced Project & Product Managers to establish a realistic budget and allocate resources effectively, balancing cost constraints with project goals. UI Designs and MVP Definition

The design process began with the wireframing stage, where I focused on translating functionality into a clear and structured layout. These wireframes underwent multiple iterations based on feedback and usability considerations. Once the functional framework was solidified, I transitioned to crafting a branded UI design that resonated with the target audience. This stage emphasized visual cohesion, accessibility, and user engagement, ensuring the final product was both functional and aesthetically appealing.

To ensure the design met user expectations, I have conducted usability testing with real users during the design phase. Feedback from these sessions helped refine key features, improve the overall user experience, and validate design decisions. The MVP scope was clearly defined, focusing on critical features such as job listings, search functionality, and application tracking to deliver maximum value with minimal resources.
